3-4 weeks before your move:Contact your Jersey utility providers (electric, gas, mobile, landline, internet etc.), and provide them with your new address and the moving date.
Start organizing your belongings – de-clutter and pack (if you are doing this yourself).
Inform your bank, building society, insurance company, credit card or store card provider of your new address.
Consider whether you'll need to notify or change schools and services like doctors or dentists.
3 days before your move:
Pack an essentials moving day bag (e.g. first aid kit, nappies, cutlery, drinks, food, tea bags, torch, matches and candles).
Pack all of your valuables safely and make sure you keep them secure during the move.
If you are dismantling furniture yourself, make sure all fastenings are safe. Use a professional to disconnect any appliances.
The day of the move:
Make sure to check that everything has been removed from the house and any outside areas.
Leave the kettle out… removals is thirsty work, so tea and coffee are most welcome!
